What truly sets us apart at Wansford Trout is our water. We farm in Europe’s most northerly chalk spring waters—an incredibly rare and valuable natural resource.

Our water begins as rainfall that filters slowly through layers of chalk underground. This natural process purifies the water while enriching it with minerals, creating a uniquely clear, clean, and alkaline environment. By the time it reaches our farm, it is naturally rich in elements that support fish health and development.

Chalk spring water is also remarkably stable. It maintains a consistent temperature and flow throughout the year, providing calm, balanced conditions where our trout can grow with minimal stress.

This purity and consistency create the ideal environment for raising fish. It supports a healthy ecosystem and allows us to farm in a way that stays close to nature.
